Production time
I have not done any real stats gathering, but for one hour of finished, edited, product takes me approximately 6 hours of record time. I'll start around 8am recording and I can get through 10k-15k of words. I find that, for me right now, 10k …

ID3 tags - if you don't fill them, no one would
Yeah, I know what you mean there. I do try to be consistent once I find something that works..then later I'll think "Well..let's try it this way.." I have my recording process down pretty much, it's the editing that I'…

Well, I use more that just Audition. I really need to standardize...honestly it depends on how lazy I'm feeling. Typically I do all the grunt work in Audition and export it as a flac, then add the intro and outro music in Audacity and render…

I actually have not bothered with the album art..tho it somehow picks up the picture I use for my youtube uploads, somehow...magic!

Good question! The forums are called "Vanilla" but not sure what the main site runs. I know Mamint is pretty minimalist, reflected in the overall site.

What MIC do you use? (And what kind of MIC you SHOULD use)
Well, I should state that I do a lot of start and stops. Plenty flubbing lines or doing retakes of certain bits. Typically I just start recording after the last word...but clicks still make their way in. Actually..now that I think on it...some of…

Fallout Equestria: Heroes
Thanks for the input, I typically use a compressor already to boost the levels but even then always seems that the final product tends to be more quiet that I would like...I'll use that advice to fiddle with the next chapter. I don't have…

What MIC do you use? (And what kind of MIC you SHOULD use)
Well, my clicks come from the stop of recording..and I guess it's loud...but..no more so than a normal mouse.but I'll figure something out...it's not too bad when the chapter is only an hour but I when I do these nearly 2 hour 20k wor…

That's about what my setup cost in the end. I'm debating getting a higher end pre-amp with more options. My biggest issue is having to clean up audio after recording......what I really need is a mouse with not 'click', lol. I …

Just a note that, after two weeks at the Vet school...a week in ICU and a week in Intermediate care, our Husky is finally coming home today. Was sure we were going to loose her there for a while but she pulled through. SO, things should be gettin…

Sorry for the delay getting things going here. For the second time in a month we've had one of our Siberian Huskies in for major emergency surgery so I've not really been in much of a position to work on anything this week as I had hoped …

Can't upload files >100 Mb, what do?
I think it probably depends on the pipe between you and it. Reasoning is if you get a sudden spike in the bitrate you may get some delay.

I was debating using variable..but that can be a problem is you're streaming from what I read..so was not sure if I should use it.

Not really from what I can see. I still get background noise (Talking about the mic here) but it's just minimized...actually not sure if 20db is the limit..it has a 20db built in boost switch too...I need to look at the specs to see what the c…

Can't upload files >100 Mb, what do?
As you know I ran into this issue with my last upload for Heroes, which was a crazy long chapter that came out to nearly 2 hours, nearly twice the length of anything up to that point. At a MP3 rate of 192 the file came out to just about 170megs, a…

The bane of our work! Editing and post processing! I am -constantly- fiddling with this, trying to find a better way to do it as it takes so much time to edit...always looking for a way to speed that process up. I started with Audacity myself, an…

This kind of the nature of the work. As far as voice at least. You see this same kind of thing for almost any TV and especially anything that is animated. For example...watch a current Simpsons or Family guy...then watch the first few episodes …
